Education

(1998–2001)
PhD in solid state physics – project founded by the EC
Louis Pasteur University, Strasbourg, France
Institut de Physique et Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg, France
"
Configuration of the magnetization in magnetic nanostructures.
Correlation between transport and magnetism"

Experience in the field of ultra-high vacuum technology and in vacuum deposition techniques; assembly and maintenance of ultra-high vacuum equipment; growth of thin magnetic films by molecular beam epitaxy;
Microstructural and morphological characterization of thin films: high energy electron diffraction, X-rays diffraction, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy;
Magnetic measurements: alternative gradient field magnetometry (AGFM), SQUID magnetometry, Kerr effect magnetometry, magnetic force microscopy;
Nanostructures patterning by e-beam lithography, dry etching and nanoimprint ; 3 years experience in clean room (CEA Saclay); design of the nanostructures by using the PROXY software from Raith Gmbh
Morphological characterization of these nanostructures by scanning electron microscopy;
Magneto-transport measurements  (magnetoresistance and Hall effect);
12 oral contributions and invited talks and posters at conferences; 11 publications in journals and conference proceedings and two book chapters in the field of spin electronics;
Collaborative projects, financed by the EC, with different research laboratories and industrial companies (Onstream Eindhoven, Neuromag Helsinki); research carried out through regular discussions and presentations to collaborators and EC officers (yearly reports and meetings); individual work or as a part of a team with the aim to meet deadlines.

Professional experience

Research Associate at CNRS (March 2002–present)
Spintec laboratory (Spintronics and Technology of Components), first nano-technologies laboratory of the Minatec research center

Main research project: Developing a new method for thermomagnetic writing in ultra-high density hard disks: heating through an AFM tip, on perpendicular media (like Tb-Fe-Co or Co-Pt), patterned or continues thin films.
Magneto-optical thin films deposition by sputtering (LETI)
Clean room Nanofab (CRTBT-Laboratory Louis Néel);
Maintaining and training on the vibrating sample magnetometer, magnetic torque, and magnetotransport installations and on the atomic force microscope;
Supervision of a French student during its MSc stage (March-June 2002)

Research assistant (October 1997 – November 1998)
National Institute of Research and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technologies
Cluj-Napoca, Romania

Main research project: Multi-photonic dissociation of SiF6 molecules in laser field radiation (CO2  laser)
